Café Istanbul is a 3,800 square feet performance hall with the mission of fostering and promoting live music, dance, theatre, poetry, comedy, film and visual arts. Located at 2372 St Claude Ave, inside the New Orleans Healing Center on the Rampart Street side, Cafe Istanbul anchors the St Claude arts district, providing coveted space for the ever-burgeoning NOLA theatre and performance community.
Since 2011, Café Istanbul has been a top notch platform for local musicians. It provides a high quality JBL sound system with effective, low-end sound proofing.
The balcony has been dedicated as gallery space, displaying the work of local painters and photographers on a monthly rotating basis.Café Istanbul has a clean & wide oak stage that spans 12′ by 24, With 4′ sections which increase the stage’s size to 16′ by 24′, it was designed with dancers & acrobats in mind. The sand-filled Stage is regularly reconfigured with a 12′ run way, to host fashion shows
Café Istanbul has the capacity to show movies in stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Check Monday listings.
