Townhouse Cocktails – Venice

The Townhouse opened it’s doors as Minotti’s Saloon in 1915. The bar was opened in a time of decadence and the alcohol flowed heavily until the passing of the Volstead Act. The Del Monte Speakeasy below the Townhouse was opened in 1921 in response to Prohibition and it’s alcohol restrictions. Many famous tipplers have since enjoyed a cocktail at Los Angeles’s longest continuously running venues including Charlie Chaplin, and Jim Morrison. Almost 100 years later, the Townhouse is as bustling as it was when it opened.
