Good Luck Bar – Los Angeles

Located just around the corner from the Vista Theater in Los Feliz, the superstitious might say they’d “stumbled upon” Good Luck bar. Good Luck pays homage to the late and lamented Yee Mee Loo, a 1940s Chinatown watering hole. Marked by a small neon sign and red vinyl door, once inside the windowless Good Luck, bathed in cinematic red light, a mysterious scene unfolds: A 360 degree bar, hovering Chinese paper lanterns, large mirrors, velvet drapes and an ornate dragon-festooned ceiling. A keyhole-shaped doorway grants passage from the main bar to the back room, where would-be opium smokers lounge on low-to-the-ground Chinese day beds and ottomans with plush cushions. Come by some time. We might just have your lucky number (knock on wood)
