Dragon’s Den – New Orleans
Place Category: Dive Bars, Music Venues, and Nightclubs
-
The Dragon’s Den is a unique bar, restaurant, and live music venue located on the corner of historic Esplanade Avenue and Frenchmen Street, the epicenter of live music in New Orleans. The Dragon’s Den, with it’s opium den vibe, is one of the longest running bars on the street, housed in a building that is over a century old.
Once home to famed British occultist Aleister Crowley, the Den also has it’s share of benevolent spirits. As a tradition, staff leave 2 shots of whiskey on the bar every night after close for our ethereal patrons. As for entertainment, The Den’s eclectic calendar is one of the most diverse in the city, featuring everything from jazz, reggae, rock, funk, hip hop, burlesque, and edm.
